Manor Kunstpreis Zentralschweiz 2014
The Manor Kunstpreis is considered one of the most significant private artistic awards in Switzerland. It includes Money for the production of new art works, as well as a museum exhibition with a catalogue. Roland Roos (b. 1974) convinced the jury of the Manor Kunstpreis with his catchy concepts, in which he combines serious messages with a great deal of intelligence and humour. The underlying principle of his artistic work is based on processes: he realises his ideas over a lengthy period of time, engages in collaborations, acquires the craftsmanlike skills required for a project, and thus creates art. The result of Roland Roos's project is shaped by modest gestures, but in terms of content his works are all the more complex. Inspired by the idea of a story in pictures consisting of individual concise pictures, in Kunstmuseum Roos will produce little books of the kind available in children's bookshops.
