An evening programme on Jacques Ranciere. Starting from films by Pedro Costa, Kenji Mizoguchi, Bela Tarr and other examples from art, the French philosopher talks on his ideas on art and politics with Bruno Besana. (Besana is a philosopher and works as theoretical researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht). Ranciere counts as one of the most influential thinkers of today. He was Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the Universite' Paris VIII and has published extensively on themes going from politics and the heritage of Marxism, to didactics, film and literature.
