16th Annual International Photographic Art Exposition. Created by Stephen Cohen, the show will feature the finest photographic art on display and for sale, from the earliest 19th Century photographic experiments to the most contemporary photography and photo-based art. A lecture and seminar series will also take place with guest lecturers including internationally renowned photographers.
16th Annual International Photographic Art Exposition
Photo l.a. 2007, the largest Photographic Art
Exposition in the United States, will be held January 18 - 21 at the Santa Monica
Civic Auditorium, located at 1855 Main Street. Created by Stephen Cohen, producer of
the highly acclaimed art fairs photo new york, photo san francisco, photo MIAMI and
ART LA, the show will feature the finest photographic art on display and for sale,
from the earliest 19th Century photographic experiments to the most contemporary
photography and photo-based art. The preview reception, hosted by legendary rock
artist, photographer and photography collector Graham Nash, will take place on
Thursday, January 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. and benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
A lecture and seminar series will also take place from January 19-21
with guest lecturers including internationally renowned photographers Anderson Low, Jim Goldberg, Mona Kuhn, Todd Hido, Alec Soth and Robert Weingarten. Mary
Virginia Swanson, photography consultant, Stephen White, collector, historian and
dealer in art photography and Virginia Heckert, associate curator of photography at
the J. Paul Getty Museum, will address seminar participants.
