SHEren in A-MexicO in Performagia 4
Laura Cristin has been invited in Mexico City by Museo Universitario del Chopo (MUCH) to participate in “Performagia 4", Encuentro Nacional de Performagia (curator Pancho Lopez) taking place from May 15 to 19 at UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico). Besides 10 Mexican artists selected with the Convocatoria (www.chopo.unam.mx) there will be : Coco Fusco, from Cuba, researcher at Columbia University of New York, Anabel Vanoni from Argentina, Maria Jose' Arjona from Columbia, Maris Bustamante and Maria Eugenia Chellet from Mexico and Laura Cristin from Italy, that will present their performances at Accademia de San Carlo and hold a Seminar in the morning at Espacio cultural Casa Vecina. Laura Cristin’s art action will be “SHEren in A-MexicO" and she will give a talk about her performing in Europe in the last years (Ireland, Finland, Spain, Germany, England and Italy).

A journey in the Time, in the Music by Dario Della Rossa, to get right in the hearth of Love (AMOre) where Life and Death meet. The main instrument is the body through its identity of SHEren/dolpHEn and its special notes: not only siren’s bathing caps or flukes, dolphins in a poncho or made of 100% real plastic to be inflated, travelling ensigns or little ducks, but also a stick of rain (renamed .WAVe) to recall the ancestral sound of the SEA (MARE) through a cactus arm, reborn as musical instrument.
In the year of M, started on January 27 thinking of Mozart’s birth and about the Holocaust too,
I will describe a Wave that everybody wanting to feel as a little grain of sand or a single drop of water in the Ocean, could make a contribution for. For the first time beyond the Tropic of Cancer, being next to the Earth’s Life hidden by Volcanos, I will proceed in the Memory of Time and Sky that belongs to everybody, thinking of the Equator that joins instead of dividing.
